Yorkshire Terriers
Believe it or not,
Yorkshire Terriers were originally bred as working dogs used to hunt
rats in England during the 1800's. Many of the early Yorkies were around
12-14 pounds until the1900's when they were bred for a smaller size and
longer coat. Yorkies make excellent companions and larger ones are
suitable for families with children. Yorkies are very independent,
determined little dogs who think they are bigger than anything, can
conquer anything, and...love anything.
Size: 2-12 pounds, very
big range!
Color: black and tan, silver and gold
Coat: long hair, non-shedding
